HandyVan ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 regarding the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and services.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of data to provide home maintenance services:

  • Personal Identity Data: Name, Phone Number, Email Address.
  • Location Data: Your home address for service delivery; real-time GPS location only during active service visits to track technician arrival.
  • Transaction Data: Service history, invoices, and payment status.
  • Device Data: IP address, device type, and app usage statistics (via Analytics).

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To schedule and perform maintenance services.
  • To communicate with you regarding appointments.
  • To process payments and issue invoices.
  • To improve our app performance and security.

4. Cross-Border Data Transfer

To provide our services efficiently, we utilize secure, third-party cloud infrastructure to process and store data. By using these services, your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your state, province, or country, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

  • Storage Location: Your data may be stored on servers located outside the United Arab Emirates, including in India, Singapore or other regions where cloud providers operates.
  • Legal Safeguards: We ensure that any transfer of data outside the UAE is protected by appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and strict encryption protocols, in compliance with Article 29 of the UAE PDPL.
  • Consent: By using our App and Services, you explicitly consent to the transfer and storage of your personal data in these jurisdictions.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (SSL/HTTPS) and at rest.
  • Strict access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only.
  • Regular security audits of our Database environment.

6. Your Rights Under UAE PDPL

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data ("Right to be Forgotten").
  • Withdraw Consent: Opt-out of marketing communications at any time.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading the HandyVan application and booking services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Services Provided

HandyVan provides home maintenance services including but not limited to AC repair, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning. We act as a service provider connecting you with qualified technicians.

3. Booking and Appointments

  • All bookings are subject to availability.
  • You must provide accurate address and contact details. Failure to do so may result in cancellation fees.
  • Technicians will arrive within the scheduled window. Delays due to traffic or unforeseen circumstances will be communicated via the App.

4. User Obligations

  • You must ensure safe access to the property for our technicians.
  • You must disclose any known hazards (e.g., exposed wiring, gas leaks) before work begins.
  • You must be present or authorize an adult representative to be present during service.

5. Payments

  • Prices are displayed in the App in AED.
  • Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed.
  • We accept Credit Card, Cash, and Bank Transfer.
  • Any additional parts required will be charged separately after your approval.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • We strive for high-quality service. However, HandyVan is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service in question.
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions of appliances or structures unless damage was directly caused by our technician’s negligence.

7. Intellectual Property

The HandyVan application, including its code, design, and content, is the property of HandyVan Technical Services LLC and is protected by UAE copyright laws.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Dubai.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Cancellation by Customer

  • More than 24 hours before appointment: Free cancellation.
  • Less than 24 hours but more than 2 hours before: A cancellation fee of AED 50 may apply to cover dispatcher/technician allocation costs.
  • Less than 2 hours before or No-Show: Full service fee may be charged.

2. Cancellation by HandyVan

  • If we cancel due to technician unavailability or emergency, you will receive a full refund or a rescheduled slot at no cost.
  • We will notify you immediately via SMS/App notification.

3. Refunds for Services

  • Unsatisfactory Work: If you are unsatisfied with the service, you must report it within 24 hours of completion. We will send a supervisor to inspect and rectify the issue at no extra cost.
  • Refund Eligibility: Refunds are only issued if the issue cannot be rectified or if the service was not performed as described.
  • Processing Time: Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7-14 business days.

4. Parts and Materials

  • Custom-ordered parts or materials already installed/purchased cannot be refunded unless defective.
